Following various comments and false information, some of which could be considered defamatory, spread on social media, the Grimaud Town Hall and the Port Authority would like to clarify the circumstances surrounding the change of locks on the exterior door of the former PG2 Harbour Master's office.
The premises in question, consisting of an office and a corridor leading to Place François-Spoerry, were officially handed over by the then President of the PG2 ASL, Mr Jean-Marie TROEGELER, following the takeover of the port, as recorded by a bailiff's report dated 3 January 2022.
On this occasion, President TROEGELER handed over the keys to the two doors (interior and exterior) of these premises [see extract from the report drawn up by Mr JOLY, bailiff, attached], which the port authority has since used on several occasions.
This year, it was decided to renew the information meetings for co-owners (which was already in place in these premises in 2022). However, when the Port Authority agents wanted to access it, they found that the keys they had been given during the transfer no longer opened the outer door, meaning that they had to go through the PG2 administration premises to get to the office. This was inconvenient for both services and posed a potential risk of blockage, particularly when entering or leaving the office outside working hours, which could cause security problems for both agents and users, among other things.
Therefore, after the new President of the PG2 ASL was officially informed, the Port Authority had the lock in question replaced, and a duplicate key was immediately given to the PG2 administration. Thus, the situation observed by the bailiff, which had not posed any problems since January 2022, was simply restored at the Port Authority's expense.
Furthermore, as the residents' meeting is working extremely well and if the number of visits continues to increase, consideration will be given to extending the reception hours by at least one day per week in August.
